A Chinese Carved Hardwood and Mix Metal Mounted Dragon Sculpture

This superb, highly decorative, hand carved hardwood figure depicts a baby dragon emerging from its cracked egg.

The dragon is very finely detailed with its wings outspread, breaking its way out of its cracked eggshell, which sits on top of a pile of pebble stones.

The hand carved figure is further enhanced with multiple individually handmade metal mounts with engraved detail in silver and gold, not marked but tested.

The eyes of the dragon are made from silver mounted cabochons of luminous blue natural stone.

This most impressive individual sculpture is in excellent original condition.

The underside of the sculpture is fitted with green suede leather to protect a polished surface.
