A very nice piece of social history..... this 19thc brass snuff box, which is finely engraved Richard Russell - Boiler Maker - Roath....conjures up the picture of this highly skilled gentleman, probably working in uncomfortable conditions...very hot, physically demanding and would have been dirty requiring immense stamina and strength... boilermakers were predominantly employed in major industrial hubs near ironworks, shipyards, and mines....this gentleman came from Roath in the north east of Cardiff in Wales, where there was ship building and coal mining...both needing boilers...the snuff box is in very good condition with no damage.Welsh C1880-90.Payment can be made by Bank Transfer , all you will need are my Bank Details, which I will send you or off line by Credit / Debit card ,..... e-mail or telephone your card details (long card number, expiry date and three security digits on the reverse of the card) through to me and I will do the rest .Please quote the Internal R...
