This decorative anatomical study of a hand dates to the early twentieth century. It is made from terracotta and finished with a brushed plaster slip. A fragment of a label, bearing the remains of a number (possibly 83 or 85), is adhered to the base, suggesting that this was one of a series of anatomical studies produced for artists wishing to study the human form.
