Gents Longines wrist watch, 1945.

The watch has a calibre 27M hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Longines and it has the serial number 6,989,076 which dates it back to 1945. There were two movements developed by Longines in the1940s where the demand was for thinner watches which were perceived as more advanced and more elegant, and the calibres 23M and 27M were born.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just some scratching to the back where a tool has slipped in the past. The inside of the case back is signed Longines.

The lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial has been professional re-finished at some point. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.
