McTague of Harrogate has dated this Herbert Dicksee Spaniel Etching to the 1920s.
Herbert went on to study at the Slade School of Art in London on a scholarship, and his first painting was exhibited in 1881. Many of Dicksee’s most famous works were transcribed into prints and etchings published by Klackner of London. He died on February 20, 1942 in Hampstead, England.

"Cocker Spaniel" is the original etching, signed in pencil by the artist Herbert Dicksee. It measures 12"x 9" and is framed in a nice old hogarth frame giving an overall size of 22"x 18". On the back is the original label giving the title "Cocker Spaniel".
