Chinese Soapstone Sculpture of a Continuous Wooded Landscape

This superb and beautiful pale green and honey coloured Chinese landscape soapstone carving is mounted onto a dark brown, naturalistically carved base.

The landscape shows tall mountains with rocky ledges, traditional buildings with pagoda shaped roofs. The buildings in the foreground are set above the shoreline of a lake and have decorative open lattice work walls with seated people inside.

The landscape is deeply wooded with a mixture of exotic trees.

This larger example is in excellent original condition with no damage or repair.
