A George III mahogany chest of drawers of small proportions, with four full width drawers with a subtle line inlay to the edges, and bracket feet. The chest retains its original brass furniture and has a good rich colour, with further subtle detail from the cross-banded edge to the top. The chest dates from c1800…
 
This chest of drawers is beautiful - fairly plain and simple but with just enough detail from the subtle line inlay on the drawers and the cross-banding on the top to lift it above the ordinary. The drawers are oak lined and have their original handles and escutcheons.
 
Condition: The chest has some wear around the drawers and to the bracket feet. There are areas of the line inlay that have been repaired over the years, and a couple of small losses. There is a small area of damage to the bottom drawer front. The top has various marks in accordance with age and use. The right hand backboard has a gap where it meets the side of the chest.
