Antique English Pewter Charles II Church Flagon, Circa 1670.

Description

English pewter church flagon with a gently tapering drum with reeded-fillet below the collar, low fillet and a large flared foot, large scroll handle with shield shaped lower terminal and twin-lobed thumbpiece.

These flagon were for communion use in Churches.

Circa 1670.

There are no makers marks that I can find.

Condition:

Excellent condition with a lightly polished silver grey finish and some traces of light oxide.

Repairs: There are no repairs that I can detect.

Size:

Height to top of thumbpiece: 12.50 in (32.00cm).

Base diameter: 7.25in (18.3cm).

Stock number: P-318.
