Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the 1920s and 1930s in Bali, Janger is a traditional folk dance performance. Sculptures depicting Janger dancers emerged during this period, capturing the elaborate fan-shaped headdresses and traditional attire worn by female performers.

Artisans typically carved these pieces from dense indigenous hardwoods such as teak, jackfruit wood, or ebony, finishing them with subtle polychrome painted highlights, polished beeswax, or natural oils.

Authentic period pieces feature fine hand-tooling marks, natural age patina, and detailed proportions characteristic of the Balinese Art Deco movement, along with subtle, stable shrinkage lines in the timber.

Positioning the sculpture as a focal point on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf adds textural depth and architectural interest, complementing both modern minimalist and eclectic interior schemes.

Dust the carving regularly with a soft, dry brush or microfibre cloth, avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources, and occasionally apply a clear natural beeswax to protect the timber.
