Rare Bridgewater Tavern Jug

Description

A large scale Tavern jug with a most attractive orange\brown treacle glaze, decorated with the London coat of arms, figures, grape vines, hops and crowns. To the front is a handle with decorative swags and a Patent mark. There is some fritting and rubbing to the applied decoration. A wonderful and scarce piece, I have seen small versions of these wares but never in this large size
