Extemely Fine Japanese Cloisonne Enamel "Samurai" Plate. Circa 1890.

Samurai superbly rendered and of the highest artisan skills and quality. Very finely decorated panel with Samurai in full body armour. Magnificent detail to Samurai's face, headress, and body armour. Costume of high ranking Samurai Official commanding a battle. Panel positioned within finely decorated geometrical shapes with vivid colours of yellow, green, brown and blues. Further panel of bamboo and birds in-flight. Reverse decorated in rich white/cream cloisonne swirls.

Condition: Excellent original condition with no cloisonne losses. Excellent circular shape with no restoration, dents or creases. Heavy plate of highest quality.
