Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This eighteenth-century English pine dresser base presents a dark patinated finish across its warm brown timber surfaces. The rustic farmhouse piece stands on four squared legs supporting a rectangular top above three inline drawers. Each drawer carries a pair of brass swing drop handles with decorative backplates. Surface wear and historic marks appear across the wood, giving the furniture an aged appearance consistent with its country style origin. Measuring 90 cm high, 166 cm wide, and 43 cm deep, the unit provides useful storage capacity. Position this dresser base in a dining room, hallway, or living area to store tableware, linens, or everyday accessories while displaying decorative items on the flat top surface. The classic lines and dark timber tones complement traditional interiors and country house schemes. The straightforward profile integrates neatly against a wall or beneath a mirror or artwork in a home interior.

FAQs

Historically utilised in country kitchens and dining rooms, a dresser base is a long, low sideboard featuring drawers for storage, functioning either independently as a server or alongside a top rack.

These pieces were traditionally crafted from solid Scots pine or pitch pine, employing hand-cut dovetail joints for the drawers and mortise and tenon joinery across the main frame.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-planed timber surfaces, irregular hand-cut dovetails, original brass backplates or drop handles, and wear consistent with age along structural points.

Positioned in an entryway, living room, or dining space, the flat top surface accommodates lamps, ceramics, or framed artwork while offering functional drawer storage.

Apply a high-quality natural beeswax polish periodically using a soft cloth to maintain the wood finish and protect against moisture, keeping the item away from direct heat sources.
