Omega Constellation | 1966 | Calibre 551 Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

Omega Constellation | 1966 | Calibre 551

This might just be one of the very finest examples of a Constellation from the 60's. It's certainly not the cheapest, however, read on to find out why we value this watch the way we do. Sold in the UK in August 1966 the serial number (2446XXXX) gives us a year of production as 1966 too. Original papers confirm these details and are accompanied with the manual and the extremely rare Constellation signed Omega Box. 34mm stainless steel case with a very well-preserved champagne colour dial showing very few imperfections. Gold hands and baton hour markers all of which are thought to be original.

Currently fitted to a generic black leather strap the original Omega steel bracelet and clasp are included in the sale. Operating from a Caliber 551 Omega movement this automatic watch has undergone a recent service and is working in expectational order. With all this in mind (the service, box, papers, bracelet and dial condition) you can see why it may well be worth paying a little more if looking for this model or an excellent example of a vintage Omega dress watch.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
