Large Pair of Japanese Bronze Garden Okimono - Cranes

1900 - 1920
Description

Another item from our fine one owner Japanese Garden selection.

Crane one: A naturalistically cast model of a standing crane , dark patinated bronze, the plumage on the wings well defined, fixed to concrete bases.

Crane Two: Smaller naturalistically cast model of a standing crane , dark patinated bronze, the plumage on the wings well defined.

Provenance :

Acquired by Bayer from Bernheimer by Carl Duisberg prior to 1930 –

Condition report:

Partial age related surface change and degradation due to many years of presentation in the park, large crane fixed to concrete bases for secure garden placement within the ground. Smaller crane with concrete now removed and positioning spikes revealed.

Small Crane : 

Height : 34" 87 cm
