Antique silver Omega pocket watch, 1930.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Omega, which is working nicely. The movement carries the serial number 7,622,998 which dates it back to 1930. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is signed Omega, and it has images of medals, presumably medals won at trade exhibitions. There is some unevenness to this inner cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and it has both Swiss hallmarks and German hallmarks, indicating the watch’s journey after being exported from Switzerland. The inside of the back cover also has the early Omega logo. The front of the case is in lovely condition, some unevenness and small “dings” to the hinged back. There are traces of a rose gold wash which would originally have been around the bezel and edge of the case back.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is very handsome with beautiful scrolling numbers, outer minute markers with 24 hour numbers, and ornate hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
