Description

This is a remarkable Mint condition unrestored and almost unworn example of the solid 9ct gold Omega 552 Automatic from 1966

The only work we have carried out is to service the movement and give the case a light polish with a soft cloth.

The solid 9ct gold case is 35mm in diameter excluding the original crown, a full size gents.

The case edges are sharp and crisp the watch looks like it was kept hidden away in a drawer and never worn.

The movement is the Omega 552, Omegas greatest automatic winding movement. It has been freshly serviced and is currently running at plus 5 seconds per day , not bad for a 60 year old watch.

The dial is totally original and perfect it has had no restoration whatsoever.

The hands are matching gold

The hallmarks and movement serial number indicate that this watch was made in 1966

The movement has just been serviced and comes with a one year warranty

It comes as a complete set with original Omega box and Omega buckle

Its the one of the most original and perfect unrestored and complete examples you will find.

A superb collectors piece.

We offer a highly personalised and bespoke service.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Timepieces from this era typically feature minimalist dials, slim profiles, and clean baton markers, reflecting the mid-century shift towards understated elegance.

High-grade timepieces predominantly utilised solid precious metals such as 9ct or 18ct gold, stainless steel, and genuine leather for straps.

Authentication involves checking serial numbers, movement calibres, and hallmark stamps inside the case back, alongside verifying the original crown and dial details.

A classic gold timepiece pairs exceptionally well with tailored formal wear or elevated casual attire, serving as a subtle focal point for sophisticated styling.

Regular servicing by a professional horologist, avoiding moisture exposure, and keeping the watch away from strong magnetic fields will ensure longevity.
