A rare & unusual Antique/ Vintage Novelty Metal Oval shaped Vesta case stamped to the base with JW over B in a shield for JW Benson. Also with Rd no 489702.

Pushing the small Oval part on the base opens the case to reveal a compartment to store matches. Striking strip on both edges.

Engraved with FW NISSEN JEWELLER QUEEN ST BRISBANE to the top and MADE IN ENGLAND on the side.

FW NISSEN were established by Frederick William NISSEN in 1892 based at 216 Queen Street Brisbane Australia.

Measuring 5.5 cm x 4 cm and weighs 27.4 grams.

Condition: Used but ok, surface scratches, wear and a few small dings, misshapen to the front at the bottom but it still opens and shuts well.
