Description

A Large Elkington and Co Copper Pan, Nickel Handles C1900, 26cm diameter .

An impressive Elkington and Co, large copper cooking pot, casserole or stockpot measuring 26cm diameter with nickel twin handles, circa 1890-1910.

A heavy gauge copper pot by leading 19th century silversmith Elkington and Co, Birmingham, UK. Elkington were the pioneer and inventor of the electroplating method, often using nickel. The large pot has a nickel handles and a nickel-tin lining.

A handsome antique copper pot of substantial presence whilst robust and excellent structural condition with no dents or defects.

The pot features the Elkington and Co impressed makers stamp and item number L40037. We estimate date to be late 19th to early 20th century.

A fine quality copper pot of both practical function and form with considerable decorative appeal.
