Artist and signature: Signed J Syer - We are unsure whether this is by John Syer Senior (1815-1885) or his son. Signed lower left “J. Syer.”

The signature is of the neater form sometimes seen in Syer Senior’s later Welsh works. The composition, rock modelling and handling of the gorge align closely with his mature style.
