Antique Helvetia Half Hunter Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

Antique Helvetia half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, probably by Helvetia, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, supplier of cases to various watch manufacturers. The case is in good condition, just a hint of unevenness to the back but nothing serious.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, W Hinds Ltd, London. The dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
