This delightful little jug is approx 212 years old
Early Georgian period of history
It has the primary imprinted backstamp for Masons patent ironstone.
The circular impressed circle patent ironstone backstamp was used betwen 1813-1820
The jug is in absolutely pristine condition, even the high temperature glaze finish to rims and the serpent head and tail is still intact.
Masons manufactured in Hanley , Northstaffordshire England
The jug is painted in the pattern known as “Japan”
This is an outstanding example and would make and item to the listed. Set of four hydra jugs of slightly later date but the same pattern.
