Nice French (early 20thc) Sculpture, 'leda', After Aristide Maillol

Striking French (early 20thC) sculpture, ''Leda'', after Aristide Maillol (1861-1944), signed with the artist’s monogram ‘M’. I am not sure what it is made of, but it isn’t bronze. Ca. 28cm high x 15cm wide x 13cm deep, weight 1.85kg.

Aristide Joseph Bonaventure Maillol was a French Catalan sculptor, painter and printmaker. He began his career as a painter and developed an early interest in the decorative arts. Maillol was primarily interested in sculpture from his early 40s and became one of the most famous sculptors of his time, his work being displayed in museums and galleries worldwide.
