Description
This galvanised tub would have probably started life on a dairy farm to store milk. It would have sat on a pivoting steel stand, with the purpose to decant milk into smaller containers. Featuring an oval shape, with a single handle on the back of the galvanised bin and a pouring spout on the front, with two horizontal side pins. The metal log basket panels have been welded and riveted together, to ensure the galvanized container is water-tight. The metal tub features a ribbed waist below the handle. The steel log bin would look superb in a variety of rooms, either next to the fire hearth or in the corner of the room displaying dry flowers. It would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it not only extremely functional but also highly decorative.

This is a decorative antique English galvanised metal log basket, with an oval shape, providing plenty of storage space for wood or other items, circa 1920, in excellent condition. This galvanised tub would have probably started life on a dairy farm to store milk. It would have sat on a pivoting steel stand, with the purpose to decant milk into smaller containers. The metal bin is in excellent condition, with no rust, no breaks and no holes to the galvanized bin. The metal log basket is solid in joint and is robust. Nominal old use marks, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The metal log basket features an attractive finish, giving it a lovely colour and appearance. This log basket is reassuringly solid and heavy, and is ready to use.
