A two-part military-style campaign chest in golden oak, made circa 1900 by the Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd. Fitted with brass recessed campaign handles and corner protectors, the chest comprises two short drawers over three long drawers, all with dovetailed joints and inset escutcheons. Raised on turned feet and constructed in two sections for portability, an essential feature of original campaign furniture designed for travel. A fine example from a reputable British outfitter supplying officers and colonial administrators.
