French Art Deco (1920s) cold-painted bronze on marble base of a ‘Shawl Dancer’ by Claude Mirval (1869-1950). Sleek and spectacular sculpture of a partly nude girl dancer. Signed M Mirval on the bronze base. Ca. 45cm high (including base) x 30cm wide x 8cm deep, weight 3.9kg

Excellent condition with minor wear.

Capturing the essence of a lively belly dance, this bronze sculpture portrays a skilled dancer in graceful motion. Light on her feet and fluid, she stretches her arms out to the sides, gliding across the floor on the balls of her feet. The artist has meticulously depicted the details of the performance, including a long sash attached to her wrists that arches around her half-nude body, resembling wings.
