Large Cecil R. Doyly-John (British 1906-1993) - 'Mougins near Cannes, S of France', oil on canvas, signed lower right, inscribed verso, 35cm x 71.5cm, within a linen-lined wood frame. It would appear this artist's works are still rising. I wrote an article on Doyly John 5 years ago when his paintings were making £300-£500 at many auctions. I predicted a good future for collectors of his works. It would appear I was correct. Now one of the most collected artists of the 20th century. I still predict further rises in price in the next years £2,000-4000. Larger paintings being at the higher end of our expectations. With auction commissions added, we are now already over the £2,000 mark for many auctioned paintings. I know of no safer money at present than Doyly John's oil paintings.
