Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Bloor Derby period refers to the era when Robert Bloor managed the Derby porcelain factory from 1811 to 1848, characterised by vibrant enamel painting and often rich gilding on bone china and porcelain bodies.

These pieces were typically crafted from soft-paste or early bone china bodies, hand-thrown or slip-cast, and hand-painted with mineral-based enamel colours before being finished with hand-applied gold leaf gilding.

Authenticity is typically verified by examining underglaze painted or printed factory marks, such as the crown over crossed batons and dots, alongside the weight, translucency of the paste, and hand-painted artistry typical of the period.

Displaying the set within a glass-fronted cabinet, on an open kitchen shelving unit using plate hangers, or on a mantelpiece stand allows the historical colour and craftsmanship to serve as a focal point.

Antique porcelain should always be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding dishwashers, abrasive sponges, and prolonged soaking to protect the delicate hand-painted enamel and gold leaf.
