Small Georgian Landscape Oil Painting

A small oil on oak panel landscape scene dating to the eighteenth century. The work is typical of landscapes of the period with an arcadian Italianate feel, having an aqueduct and resting cattle herder. The piece is beautifully and skilfully painted and in good untouched condition, with only a typical slight craquelure. There is a possible signature on the reverse however I feel this is more likely a previous owner. The painting is framed in a nice quality mid Victorian gilt frame which has had some repair but overall is in very good untouched condition. The whole has a great period country house look and is ready to hang. C.1800.
