A superb early 19th century ''Propper'' English Country House Rosewood sofa firmly attributed to Gillows of Lancaster c1820. The scrolled arms with crisply carved acanthus leaves both to the front and back of the sofa. Raised on 4 thick turned and reeded legs with the original brass cup casters.
Provenance. Brocklesby Park. The estate remains the private residence of the Earls of Yarborough.
