A Decorative Pair of French Cast Iron Chinese Foo Dogs.

This lovely pair of highly decorative Chinese foo dogs dates to circa 1900 and is most likely French in manufacture. They are solidly cast with great detail and have a rich hand-painted finish that represents red lacquer.

Their teeth and eyes have been highlighted in white. The foo dogs are very well modelled showing good movement and stance and a fierce expression. This heavy pair of tactile cast iron foo dogs are in very good condition with no damage.

Their painted finish displays a dark patination.
