Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

In the late 18th century, publisher John Boydell commissioned engraver Richard Earlom to reproduce drawings by Claude Lorrain from the Liber Veritatis collection. These prints utilised etching and mezzotint techniques with sepia ink to replicate the original wash drawings.

These prints were rendered on handmade laid paper using copper plate etching and mezzotint methods with brown sepia inks. Frames from the period typically consisted of carved pine or lime wood coated in gold leaf moulding.

Authentic prints feature distinct plate marks pressed into laid paper, period publisher inscriptions along the lower margin, and subtle variations in tonal sepia shading resulting from the hand-applied ink process.

Pairing monochrome landscape prints vertically or horizontally creates symmetry above a console table or mantelpiece. The warm brown tones complement neutral colour palettes, dark timber furniture, and contemporary brass fixtures.

Display prints away from direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent paper foxing and fading. Ensure framing uses acid-free mounting boards and UV-protective glass to preserve the paper integrity.
