A rare pair of 19th Century French spelter figural sculptures depicting a pair of cavalier military soldiers. This stunning pair are finely cast and of exceptional quality with rich patination, fabulous detail and both are portrayed in a formal pose in full dress uniform bearing spears and swords. Raised on a stepped socle platform with greek key and foliate motif detail, supported on a moulded, ring turned and well figured timber and ebonized plinth base of circular form, each with brass, name plates labelled 'Lancastre, Par Poitevin, Sculptr' and 'Clarence, Par Poitevin, Sculptr'.
