C19th Ale Jug

A large scale ale or dairy jug, of simple form haling from a tradition that goes back centuries. Glazed to the top quarter and interior, the body of the jug has a dry surface. These simple country made pots have a timeless elegance to them and each one has individuality. In good original order, some fritting to the top edge.
