Description

COUNTY OF LANCASTER: a solid bronze measure “Imperial Gallon” for the County of Lancaster and dated 1834. Cast with twin carrying handles, this fine bronze measure was originally used by Customs and Excise Officers to check that market traders were not under-selling their customers. Ideal for use today as a Wine Cooler ~ it will easily take two bottles plus ice! 8ins diameter (12ins across the handles) and 7ins high.
