Late Regency Silhouette of a Child

A fine and detailed Late Regency/William IV silhouette of a child. The child is beautifully and intricately observed, standing full length and holding a whip from a top and whip game. The child is dressed in the most wonderful dress with full skirt and topped with a large sun hat. The detail of the silhouette has been picked out in gold paint. The work will have been done by a professional silhouette artist though it is not signed. The paper is in good condition with some minor browning. The bird’s eye maple frame is most likely the original and is in good condition with some minor nibbles around the edge. The whole is unusual being a child’s silhouette and has a great decorative impact. C.1830.
