Antique silver Longines pocket watch.
The watch has a gilt stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Longines name and it has the logo on the regulator, and also the wording modčle déposé (registered design). It is all protected by an inner cover which has the Longines name and various images of medals. Also included is the name of the original owner, Clemens Le Claire of Dortmund.
The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are German hallmarks inside both of the case backs, together with the Longines logo including the initials EF Co for Ernest Francillon, founder of Longines. The case is in good condition and has a rose gold wash around the edge, a style known as galonne.
The glass lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial has lovely ornate pin set hands, again part of the galonne design. It is all in beautiful condition, and the red outer numbers are a handsome and unusual feature for this style of watch.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
