Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Early 20th-century pine furniture was frequently utilised for practical domestic storage in bedrooms and utility spaces, often crafted from softwoods that were locally sourced and built for utility.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid softwoods like Scots pine, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers and pegged or screwed frames designed for durability.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate hardware such as cast iron drop handles, natural timber patination, tool marks, and traditional joinery rather than modern fasteners.

A pine chest brings warmth and texture to contemporary spaces, contrasting well against neutral plastered walls and serving as a functional storage solution in a bedroom or hallway.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight, dusting regularly with a soft cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood.
