Yolanda Gray Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
A bolster cushion is present. The front seat frame features a straight moulded frieze, with a decorative scroll-carved pediment at the foot of the chaise longue. The arm and backrest are solid in joint. The mahogany turned legs are decorated finely carved floral tulips and raised on the original brass castors.

The mahogany chaise longue has been upholstered in a mushroom colour velvet upholstery at some point in the recent past and finished with matching braiding. Although the upholstery is presentable, there are old use marks and minor fading, with some frayed braiding. The Victorian chaise longue would therefore benefit from being re-upholstered in our opinion. The stuff over seat is firm but comfortable to sit on; you do not sink into the chaise. The chaise has been upholstered with foam fillings. The underside of the chaise features black cotton backing material. The Victorian chaise longue frame boasts a stunning mahogany colour, having been cleaned and professionally French polished by hand in our workshop.
