Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
Beautifully made in pine, still in the original finish and green paint. The fabulous potboard dresser base does have the original rack too, but if that isn’t used, the rack leaves no trace on the potboard dresser top. The open potboard dresser base has silhouette legs with the central leg having a pierced design. Very unusual to have the slatted and panelled sides to the base, this is to allow air flow to the base to keep earthenware food crocks cool. Above are four drawers, all have the original brassware handles. In superb intact condition, dates to around 1770. Still in the original fish with original painted pine green back panels. A very original example and amor unusual model from Tregaron in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. The height to the potboard dresser base top is 89cm.
