Introduced in 1948, the Omega Seamaster was originally built on technology developed for the British military during the Second World War, combining water-resistance with robust automatic movements.

Watches from this era typically feature stainless steel or gold-capped cases, acrylic crystals, and genuine leather straps, housing complex mechanical movements constructed from brass and steel components.

Authentic pieces feature correct hallmark stampings, signed crowns, specific movement serial numbers matching the era, and properly marked casebacks often bearing the Seamaster hippocampus logo.

A classic timepiece pairs effortlessly with tailored suiting or smart-casual knitwear, adding a sophisticated historical detail to contemporary attire.

To maintain longevity, keep the movement serviced every three to five years, avoid exposure to moisture unless pressure tested, and store in a secure, dry environment away from magnetic fields.
