Fine Japanese Meiji (late 19thC) silvered bronze okimono of the Shogun’s Horse by the Maruki Company. Beautifully cast, the stallion is depicted standing four square with its head slightly uplifted. Its tack is realistically modelled and embellished with the Tokugawa mon on the saddle flap (commonly referred to as the triple hollyhock). 36cm long x 27cm high x 12cm wide, weight 5.05kg.
