We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originally developed in domestic kitchens during the late 17th and 18th centuries, dressers were functional pieces used for food preparation on the base surface and the display or storage of earthenware and pewter on the open upper shelves.

Authentic pieces are predominantly constructed from solid English oak, frequently featuring hand-planed boards, pegged mortise and tenon joints, hand-cut dovetails on drawers, and iron or brass hardware.

Authentication involves examining timber shrinkage, tool marks from adzes or hand saws, pegged joinery, patination consistent with age, and hand-forged iron or brass fixings rather than modern machine-cut screws.

An antique dresser can be grounded in a modern space by contrasting its warm timber tones with minimalist white walls, using the open shelving to display curated ceramics or glassware.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight, dusting with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the timber without sealing the surface.
