Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George III period furniture spans from 1760 to 1820, characterised by classical proportions, refined hand-carved detailing, and the predominant use of high-quality dense mahogany imported from the West Indies.

Tallboys of this era were primarily constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over oak and pine carcass structures, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, oak drawer linings, and cast brass hardware.

Authenticity is indicated by irregular hand-cut dovetails, hand-planed back panels, age-related shrinkage in the secondary woods, and genuine cast brass handles with historic oxidisation around the fixings.

A tallboy offers vertical storage that works effectively against neutral modern walls, serving as a focal point in bedrooms, dressing rooms, or wide hallways without occupying excessive floor space.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the item away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage or fading.
