The fact that the two women are far from the centre gives us - and them - a sense of direction and a story. They are heading into the depth of the forest and have a long walk ahead of them. There is a lovely sense of narrative and mystery, created through dramatic light, fine detail and the artist's love for nature which shines through.
Measuring 27 x 22 cm, our oil on board on panel is signed at the lower right. The overall framed size in a more recent frame is 32 x 27 cm.
