A great admirer of Turner,Wasley was mainly active between 1880 and 1914,exhibiting at the Royal Academy and various provincial galleries.One of his first exhibited works ‘Evening on the Esk’ was purchased by the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.He had a studio at Whitby for many years. ‘Venice ‘ signed watercolour,image size 25.5x52.5 cms framed size 49x75 cms; provenance:with Abbey Antiques and Arts,Hemel Hempstead ,Herts.This fine example has excellent strong colouring.
