A George III dresser in oak and chestnut, the separate plate rack with a moulded cornice over a cut frieze, fitted with three shelves each with a beading plate retainer, fitted to a base with a plain rectangular top over four drawers each with brass drop handles, and with a similarly shaped frieze below, on turned supports with all-round stretchers. English, circa 1770.
Condition: Overall very good, the dresser is in very good condition with no damage or significant marks other than those of use consistent with age, the drawers run smoothly, the handles are original and the top is stable. The backboards of the plate rack are probably later additions (there would have been none originally). Overall it has a lovely warm colour and delightful patina.
