This Regency chest of drawers dates from the early 19th century and exemplifies the Georgian style. Made from mahogany, the piece displays a warm brown timber colour with a polished finish and shows good original untouched country house condition. The structure incorporates a serpentine front shape with four graduated drawers, fitted with turned wooden knobs and supported by splayed feet. The top drawer has an inserted key, while small keyhole escutcheons are set into the upper sections of the other three drawer fronts. Subtle string line mouldings outline the drawer fronts. Measuring 112 cm high, 118 cm wide and 56 cm deep, the chest provides practical storage capacity for a bedroom, hallway or living space in a home today.
