Antique Silver Longines Pocket Watch, 1911

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Vintage Wrist Watch Company

Antique silver Longines pocket watch, 1911.

The watch has a 15 jewel stem-winding movement, Longines calibre 18.69N, which is working nicely. The movement is stamped with the Longines serial number 2,617,512 which dates it back to 1911. The movement has the wording, ‘Examined by Baume, London’, Baume were importers of Longines watches to the UK and the Commonwealth. The B&Co Baume mark can also be seen underneath the regulator. The movement is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1911 together with the sponsor’s mark for Arthur Baume of Baume & Co. The case is in good condition, just the odd small mark but nothing serious at all. Nice crisp engine turned detail to the back of the watch, with a central vacant cartouche.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed, ‘Examined by Baume, London’. The dial is in lovely condition, just a very faint hairline on the subsidiary seconds dial. Original blued steel pin-set hands.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
