Robert Thorne Waite RWS 1842-1935.Landscape painter,mainly in watercolour.Born in Cheltenham;studied at South Kensington Museum.Exhib atbTA from 1870 SS,NWS,GG,NG etc but mostly at OWS.Elected ARWS 1876,OWS 1884.Painted pastoral scenes in Yorkshire and Southern England,especially the Sussex Downs; the main influence on his style was Copley Fielding. ‘ Harvest Time’ signed watercolour, image size 38 x54 cms, framed size 57x74 cms.Provenance :Thomas Agnew and Sons Manchester.Original giltwood frame
