Art Deco Print of a Bird of Paradise by Adriaan Van T’hoff

A stylish Art Deco period print of a bird of paradise by Dutch artist Adriaan van t’Hoff (1893-1939). The quality of the work is superb, the detail and texture of the feathers wonderfully created in lithograph. The print is signed by monogram within the work but also to the lower left and dated 1931. Adriaan van t’Hoff was a Dutch artist famous for his travel posters and animals, working within the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles. He studied at the Academy of Figurative Art in the Hague where he was born. He travelled widely and became accomplished in many different techniques including oils, watercolours, drawing and etching. Van t’Hoff’s work was part of the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928. This print is an archetypal piece of his animal work, both detailed and dramatic. The piece is in excellent condition and retains the original fine quality frame with birchwood mount. The whole is a great piece of Art Deco period artwork and is ready to hang.
